About Me

Better teammate, better leader, everyday.

This is my personal mantra. Whether it's in front of the whiteboard or under the log, I believe excellent leadership is the answer to every problem.

I've had the good fortune to lead in nearly every aspect of life. From sports as a captain, to wilderness guides in New Zealand, I've taken teams through rough circumstances to come out stronger together. Or from training with Navy Seals to founding companies, I've been pushed well beyond my perceived limits and won because of the team.

Methodologies

Across my time at companies around the world leading product management and product design, I've built a few common practices that I fall back to time and time again.

  • Agile Development

  • OKRs, SMEAC, and SMART goals

  • Extreme Ownership

  • Decentralized Command

Fun Facts

I was born in an ambulance in Cincinnati, grew up in Tennessee, and now live in Los Angeles with a brief stint in New Zealand. I joined a hip hop dance team at Chapman where we won three years in a row. I built a raft out of kite string and driftwood and sailed it three miles. My thesis film in college about veterans finding purpose in life by escaping their nursing home won multiple film festival awards, and my first job out of college was mixing horror movies (most notably by Sam Raimi). I've summited the Grand Teton and Whitney, and carried an egg all the way to the top of Franz Josef glacier. I'm technically a songwriter on an album nominated for a grammy, and I have works that have been featured by Rolling Stone and Billboard. I almost adopted a stray cat in Milos, Greece. I completed Sealfit Kokoro after 21 months of training and one failed attempt, and now I'm training for GoRuck Selection.
